Daggermen

Chip in

One ask, and no mystery about where it goes.

Keeping the wire secure

We have your back. We have your six. Not as a turn of phrase — as the thing this site actually does. A person reads every request to join, by hand, and decides who comes inside the wire. Your handle stays yours. Every photograph loses its location on the way in, whether or not you thought to check.

What you chip in helps keep the enemy outside the wire. The enemy is seldom dramatic: scrapers, accounts fishing for somebody’s real name, the occasional stranger who wants to know where a photograph was taken. They get turned around because a person is checking, not because a form is — and those hours are the biggest thing on the bill.

The rest of the bill is a server, a domain and backups. No investors, nothing here is sold, and member data is not for sale at any price.

To be straight about it: this is not a charitable donation. Daggermen is not a registered charity, you will not get a receipt, and there is no tax credit in it. You would be paying for the lights to stay on and the gate to stay manned.

Not open yet. When it is, it will be a single button and a page that says exactly where the money goes.

If you need someone to talk to rather than something to pay for, the support page lists people who will answer at any hour.
